For this first recipe in our new cocktail series we asked Annie Williams Pierce, one of the top bartenders in the U.S., to make us a winter cocktail worthy of sharing our great customers and fans. What she created is a warming, balanced cocktail with hints of oak and molasses.

We've named it, The Bear at Rest for its rich, dark brown color. Our cocktail uses Columbus, Ohio based Watershed Distillery's Nocino. Feel free to substitute another Nocino if Watershed is not available in your area. Enjoy.

INGREDIENTS:

2 oz - Glenfiddich 12 year
3/4 oz - Cynar Amaro
3/4 oz - Watershed Nocino
1 - Lemon

 

Cliff Cocktail

 

HOW TO:

Add Scotch, Cynar and Nocino to a tin or mixing glass filled with ice. Stir for 15-20 seconds. Strain into an old fashioned glass over one large ice cube or sphere (2x2 cube what we used). Garnish with a wide lemon twist.

Then find a fireplace. Sit beside it. Invite friends for conversation.
